Beautiful Handmade Nantucket Basket Wine Chiller
This beautiful wine basket is the perfect addition to your home bar, art collection or picnic basket. The basket has a Lucite interior for insulation and space in the bottom for ice, covered by a Lucite shelf on which the bottle rests.
The tradition of basket weaving began aboard the lightships anchored off the shores of Nantucket. These floating lighthouses protected ships as they approached the island from the shallows that surround her. Keepers of the lightships spent much of their time weaving and the result is a tradition that is still practiced today. The Nantucket Basket has become an art form with makers exploring new shapes, functions, materials, and decoration.

Inspired by Sonya Delauney and Mark Rothko as well as Savannah’s beautiful colors, Diane strives to bring layers of color to life in her artwork. For this piece, she poured acrylic paint on canvas paper and then collaged it to represent our coastal surroundings.
Diane began painting seriously after retiring three years ago. In addition to painting acrylic, she is exploring other mediums and techniques to learn what she likes best.
